Every january goth couples are fucking hard to try and have a halloween baby they're gonna name ophelia or some shit
I’m a Halloween baby but my parents are normal so I’m Garrett
Hi garrett
happy birthday garrett
happy birthday garrett
Happy birthday garrett
may be a hot take but i think the fact minors can access 18+ content by just clicking a button that says 'yes im totally over 18 trust me' is like. totally fine tbh. its a non-issue. i dont care if curious teenagers are looking at porn. they've been doing that for as long as porn has existed. id rather teens explore their sexuality through images on the internet than rush into real life experiences when they're not ready for it yknow. the UK is trying to put stricter age verification in place (which in turn is becoming an online privacy nightmare) and like. for what. who is it helping. why is this a problem.
People panic about "But what if kids pick up bad ideas from it???"
When I was a kid, Power Rangers got banned at school because we all thought it was incredibly cool and kept trying to kick each other in the head. No-one bothered explaining "Those are trained actors and it's all practiced, they don't *actually* hurt each other, and you're not good at that yet", they just banned it.
So we went to the park after school and read Kim's smuggled copy of the Power Rangers magazine and kicked each other in the head there instead.
(This is a metaphor, but it's also literally true. So much kicking in the head.)
God forbid parents actually talk to their teenagers.
"there is no way you're not using chatgpt for at least a few things here and there no matter your stance on it" what the FUCK are you talking about
"no ethical consumption under capitalism" is really an argument for communism but has evolved into a thought terminating cliche for the populace of the global north who wish to mindlessly consume without having to consider the morality of our choices and behaviors and the inevitable need to change them alongside the deconstruction of capital and colony
sorry this is my first thought upon waking but between ai and factory farming and fucking monthly shein hauls and new phones every year mined by exploited people in drc and refusals to boycott along BDS guidelines by people with more than enough options and every aspect of the culture of convenience and whos labor must be invisiblized to maintain that comfort and convenience and then you see people online like well don't ruin my fun by trying to make me think critically at all ever . i am going to become the joker

Okay, here's my idea:
The British should put a time limit on the Monarchy.
Not like declaring a republic tomorrow, but deciding on a date in the future that ends the British Monarchy.
And there's a perfect date for it coming up!
October 14th, 2066.
A thousand years since the Battle of Hastings. A thousand years of this one specific bloodline ruling England.
Call time on the Monarchy after exactly one thousand years. Nice, and neat.
Even better: Charles isn't living 44 years. He'll be gone in about twenty. Now William? He's what, 40? Yeah, he can live another 44 years. His great grandmother was over a hundred, his granny was 96, William can make it to 84 barring accident or assassination.
So on October 14th 2066, William the Last steps down a thousand years after William the First won the crown.
Nice, neat, and fair. William gets the crown he's been waiting forty years for already, but ten-year-old George grows up without expectation of it.
Have a nice big abdication ceremony, even.
Plus, what an absolute baller move to announce your regnal name as William the Last.
the Final Bill
#William the Last smacks of Douglas Adams
the wisdom ive learnt is that becoming part of a friend group 1) takes a long time and 2) involves a lot of feeling awkward and left out at first. there’s nothing terrible about this but if you grew up chronically lonely or have any kind of trauma relating to social isolation this likely feels Really Wrong and activates danger signals. but both fortunately and unfortunately it’s just how becoming close to new people works most of the time
another thing that was not intuitive to me as someone who grew up an autistic loner: basically everyone on the planet is starved for connection all the time and almost everything people do is an attempt to reach out to another. most seemingly illogical interactions and behaviours can be explained by this. you have to take as many of these invitations as you can. even if you're wrong you still attempted to bring more warmth into the world
